My Comments and News:2/8/02 - A funny parable that I found. 2/7/02 - More good weather! Went for an hour run in Schenley today :) I took some photos on campus today to show how good the campus looks in nice weather. They're on the miscellaneous photos page. I'm very happy with how they came out - crisp and sharp because I was using my tripod. The images on my site are reduced size - I have the originals which are twice the size... you can see the incredible detail much better in the originals. 1/31/02 - What's up with this weather? 65 degrees in January, crazy. I'll admit that it does feel good though... But Pittsburgh weather is supposed to be like: this. (yes, my dog should be in Pgh too, parents wouldn't let me take her with me ;)) 1/31/02 - This space intentionally left blank. 1/29/02 - Paradox or not: I'm hungry and full at the same time. I was starving so I ate a ton of food... and that makes me feel stuffed... but I'm still hungry because the food hasn't registered yet. 1/29/02 - Well I'd say that today has been quite an interesting day. 1/28/02 - Well, that's like the 6th "My Party" worm that I've received today. I don't even know these people! Why am I in their address books? 1/26/02 - If I were a mean hacker person, I would write a virus that destroys the Microsoft paper clip. It would be a worm that spreads over the internet and removes the evil paper clip from all Microsoft Office applications but doesn't harm anything else. The paper clip is so annoying... you can't really turn it off on cluster computers because your settings don't save. I had the misfortune of having to use several Windows cluster computers last week. Fortunately I think I won't need to use Windows any more this semester. :) 1/24/02 - Hmm... why is it that the Wean elevators always seem to be going down? Is there some fundamental law of nature that requires them to go down? 1/22/02 - Silly gripe time: Why do marketing people feel the need to mutate the English language? 1/13/02 - Shoot, I just noticed I had been putting 01 as the year for my last week of entries (they're fixed now). :) Anyway, the exciting news is that I have new pictures up - a new page of Maggie photos. 1/8/02 - I wish Computing Services would hurry up and install PHP on the andrew servers (if they're ever going to get it done at all). I can do some really cool things with PHP. (PHP is Hypertext Preprocessing, a language that let's you make your web code more dynamic and flexible). Is there anyone else who would like to be able to use PHP on andrew or am I the only one? If you are interested in it, please email me so I can get an idea of the support for it, if any. Maybe if we get enough people, we can go storm Cyert! :) 1/6/02 - Okay, if you have 5 minutes of free time now, this is a must-read: An article from The Miami Herald about Windows. The author is somewhat random, but very funny and true. : ) 1/4/01 - "To sell your soul is the easiest thing in the world. That's what everybody does every hour of his life. If I asked your to keep your soul - would you understand why that's much harder?" -The Fountainhead, Ayn Rand 1/4/02 - Which do you see - a bunny or a duck? 1/4/02 - Doing some rework of the site. Added infrastruture for CSS (stylesheets). Hopefully I'll have time to make some real improvements. 12/31/01 - Last post of the year! I'm cleaning up my email folders now... I've deleted 500 messages but still have over 3400 left, hehe. It's interesting to go back and read emails from a year ago, some of them are pretty funny, or bring back old memories. Well, Happy New Year everyone!!! 12/29/01 - Went ice skating with the family today. It was very crowded and out of necessity, I learned two new things: how to stop quickly by turning my skates (making that nice ice skidding sound)making that nice ice skidding sound) and how to stop by making the skates into a V (I had to learn these stopping maneuvers so I could avoid running over little kids, ha). 12/28/01 - AHHH!!!!! After hours of confusion trying to figure out what was causing the bug on this page (the top part was messed up), I have discovered the cause! The <body ... > tag for the page was unclosed! (missing the closing bracket). Doh. Netscape and Mozilla apparently deal with that okay but IE does not. Well, I'm embarrassed that I spent so long on such a stupid thing but happy that I finally fixed it :) 12/27/01 - We have one computer and 4 people (me + 3 sisters) who use it often. It is an all-out, savage and barbaric war. Nobody has lost any bodily appendages yet but I can't make any promises. 12/25/01 - Christmas day web construction! Did some redesign so that the grouping of content makes more sense (fun stuff, haha!). The only new content is a page on Dvorak. 12/14/01 - So instead of beginning to study for my next final, I have constructed a course plan for my next 2 1/2 years here. It's in the schedule's section, here. If you find any flaws or stupidities in it, feel free to let me know! 11/26/01 - Yay, lots of new stuff, aren't you excited?? I tooew stuff, aren't you excited?? I took a bunch of photos on Thanksgiving break. Check out the new Maggie pics, new page for Miscellaneous photos and a new page for family photos. Eww, Subway put an onion in my sub again... 11/17/01 - Posted a funny quote from Shrek in the Lists section. 11/14/01 - My Spring course schedule is now up! Looks like it's going to be a pretty tough semester... but hopefully fun. The only thing I don't like about my schedule is that I have class at 9 or 9:30 every day (except Friday)... oh well, at least I'll get done with classes early in the day. 11/4/01 - Some new stuff now... The picture above is Ish as a mummy (courtesy of Shaina). 10/9/01 - I haven't updated anything in a while but now I have a few minutes free because I just finished my psychology paper. Hurray! Basically the only thing that is updated is the main page image above. I love iguanas :) (I used to have one but he misbehaved so I had to sell him... ask me about him sometime if you want). 9/14/01 - Added an email that I wrote about the dangers of giving up our personal liberties to the government at a time l liberties to the government at a time like this. 9/12/01 - I have added an interesting article from a Canadian newspaper to my Lists section. It's an article on America (in light of yesterday's events).
9/11/01 - A sad day in the history of America. Thankfully, everyone I know is safe. This tragedy, in addition to destroying lives, has permanently changed the skyline of the greatest city in the world. For this reason, I am posting a picture of what used to be the Manhattan skyline:
8/14/01 - Some new photos added to the People, Maggie, and My Summer sections. 8/2/01 - As you can probably see, I now have a new main page photo :) I realized that there's no reason I should leave it the same thing forever so I'll probably change it every few weeks... so anyone who lets me take good pictures of them might get up! Instant fame right? Hehe. 7/27/01 - UPDATE - I now have a message board/guestbook! It is only a trial, I may remove or change it later. Please visit it and post something so I know you came... write anything - tell me how your summer is going, how boring your job is, what you like or donw boring your job is, what you like or don't like about my website, whether or not the grass is still green, whether or not you still have your sanity, etc. (you get the idea). 7/19/01 - Ok, so yesterday I was talking to a pink flamingo and it said to me: "Hey your head is on backwards." And I was like, "No way man." And then it started kicking my head to the left side with one of its long spindly legs! So I grabbed the leg and said, "Your leg is going to be on backwards pretty soon!" It yanked away its leg and ran. I still have foot prints on my face... 7/18/01 - UPDATE - New items added to the Lists section and the menu bar on left redesigned. Thecounter.com is being stupid now and isn't displaying my counter... I may have to search for a new one. 7/14/01 - UPDATE - A page with people photos is now up! Also, added an article to the lists section. Also, added many Maggie photos!
7/11/01 - A joke for all my CMU tech friends out there...
7/6/01 - Fireworks photos are now up! Here. 7/3/01 - The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. 6/30/01 - UPDATE - Added a page for my digital camera :) 6/29/01 - UPDATE - Did some more work and added a new list - the Top 10 Signs You're Addicted to the Net. 6/21/01 - Ok, I've made a lot of changes to the site recently. Take a look at my summer activities and pictures of my family's dog. If you find any problems, send me an email. 6/22/01 - From a workplace survey: How many times per day do you yell
at your computer for being too slow?     I would have chosen A. Because I love my computer and although it sometimes misbehaves, on the whole it is a very good companion... er, I mean computer. 4/16/01- A rainbow seen from my window! Pic1, Pic2, Pic3. (the pictures don't look nearly as good as it looked in real life... I have to do some photoshop work on them) :) Thanks goes to Terrence for the pics.
Old Stuff: Hi! I don't have time to make a fancy website and I like simple no-frills
websites so that's what this one is like :) Mon, 10/2/00, 1am - Ok, finished the 151 homework... adding stuff to my page :) Now it really does have pictures... 12/7- If anyone can get me a high-quality, full-length copy (mpeg, divx?) of the "Just Got Wicked" music video by Cold, I'll love you forever... well, maybe not, but almost... ;) It's an awesome video but all I can find are junky Realplayer streams! NEW!! - 3/7/01- I finally got around to updating this... Added some quotes to my quotes page (the first one) and added a diary of an AOL user :). And added a music file - It's a German version of the Aqua song "Barbie Girl"... very entertaining! Listen to it: MP3 News Flash: A study has shown that getting less than 8.3 hours of sleep per night can cause brain damage! Listen to the famous "Game Over Man, Game Over!"
[REMOVED] quote from the movie Aliens. That's a great quote...
and a great movie... if you want a really good Aliens quicktime trailer,
send me an email! Why it's NOT MY FAULT that I lost 60-70% in the stock market - The NASDAQ lost 60% too! (See for yourself)
